The freedom on offer here is still staggering by modern standards. Hit the gym to bulk CJ up, or binge on fast food and watch him get visibly heavier, his appearance actually reacts to how you play. The gang warfare system lets you recruit Grove Street homies and take rival turf street by street, giving the whole game a sense of building something rather than just completing a checklist. The vehicle roster is enormous too, over 200 cars, bikes, boats, a jetpack, even a Hydra jet, all handling with that loose, arcadey feel the series never really lost. On modern phones the frame rate stays smooth and draw distance is noticeably better than the original PS2 release.

Cheat Codes Work Exactly Like You Remember

All the classic codes are here and function exactly as they did on console, just typed through the on-screen keyboard instead of a controller. HESOYAM restores health, armor, and drops $250k in your pocket. BAGUVIX grants invincibility. ROCKETMAN spawns a jetpack out of nowhere.
