GTA Mzansi - This South African GTA clone is janky, funny, and curiously charming. After years of blowing up American cities, this twisted Johannesburg-style map has a novelty and the local jokes will hit if you’re from the area. Driving is great fun in a kind of arcadey (not GTA V level of polish) way, with gloriously janky physics.

The missions vary, from drug deals gone wrong to some township humour that is just absurd. Different to other mods, it unlocks all weapons and vehicles instantly, which is lovely because you can skip the grind in the early stages of the game. While it might be lacking polish, it definitely has personality – the Zulu radio stations alone have me reconsidering if this should be worth downloading.

Performance is surprisingly decent given the fact that this game is a fan project. Not for everyone, but if you want a GTA-style game with a very interesting South African twist, this is worth tracking down.
